VPA Thanks Governor McDonnell! |

VPA Thanks Governor McDonnell!
Virginia Production Alliance President Mark Remes presents Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell with a framed keepsake "Thank You Poster" featuring nearly a hundred signatures of VPA members. The names and personal messages of thanks are testament of the heartfelt appreciation for the Governor's successful passage of his new legislation passed by the General Assembly last year establishing tax incentives for film production companies who choose to film in Virginia. Thus far over the last year or so, the Governor’s Motion Picture Opportunity Fund has triggered over ten projects producing a total economic benefit of 14 million dollars. This year's efforts have seen the Virginia Senate include an additional two million dollars in the Governor’s motion picture opportunity fund. But thus far, the House of Delegates has not included the recommendation to fund the grant program. Terry Stroud, our VPA President Emeritus and Chairman, is working hard along with other volunteers and our lobbying partners Advantus Strategies, in a close knit effort to sway support back to full funding of the opportunity fund. |
