Uniting Film, Video, Audio Production and New Media

The Virginia Production Alliance (VPA), headquartered in Richmond, was formed to promote production in the Commonwealth. We unite the Virginia creative community — professionals involved in film, video, audio and new media — and provide valuable educational, social, and networking opportunities that help grow the industry.

HRVPA Meeting and Elections 5/8/12

The renewed, re-energized and refocused Hampton Roads Chapter of the Virginia Production Alliance met on May 8th at 7 pm at Regent University in Virginia Beach.

We had almost 100 people attend!

Kahil Dotay ran the meeting until the following were elected:

Chairman: Brian Kirwin
1st Vice Chair: Sarah Kaminski
2nd Vice Chair:  Kelley Davis
Secretary:  Bill Armstrong

Then, Brian Kirwin took it from there.

Guest Speakers: Del. Ron Villanueva,  Patrick Salyer, and Andy Edmunds all gave remarks that were appreciated by the crowd.

Secret information and leads were given out at the meeting that can't be pubished here, sorry :-(   but if you can find a HRVPA meeting attendee they might be willing to share.

It was standing room only and there was so much energy that after the meeting we had an impromptu "after party" at the "Founder's Inn" across campus and then some even continued to an "after, after party".

WHY JOIN THE VIRGINIA PRODUCTION ALLIANCE?

Membership in the VPA shows our legislators that Virginia has a robust and prolific film and video community, and that we represent a forceful voice when it comes to matters involving film incentives and economic development. It shows film and video production companies that Virginia has a deep and diverse pool of talent and crew available for their next project, giving them every reason to bring their next production to the Commonwealth. Lastly, membership shows that the film and video community is a collaborative group of professionals who stand ready to share information and resources, and support their fellow colleagues in their creative endeavors.
